kumori GARASU ni ukabu taiyou miteita
ichinda enogu no iro souzou shiteita | I looked at the sun floating on a piece of frosty glass [1]
and imagined the true colours of that blurred painting | kanashiku naru made kikoeru made
shizukana jikan ga afurete kuru made | until I became sad, until I heard it
until the silent time brimmed over | atta koto nai hito to yakusoku shitai no
kawaita kaze no naka de akushu o shitai no | I want to make a promise with a person I've never met before
I want to shake hands with him in the dry wind | hikari ga furu hodo yumemiru hodo
namida o nagashite nemuri ni tsuku hodo | So much that the light rains down, so much that I dream about it,
so much that I fall asleep shedding tears | kami HIKOOKI o oka no mukou ni tobashita
omoide o kumo ni nage hitori de sakenda | I threw a paper airplane to the far side of a hill
and shouted alone, throwing my memories to the clouds, | tooku ni mukatte hi ni mukatte
shikakui mado kara kokoro ni mukatte | facing far away, facing towards the sun
facing towards my heart through a square window | awashiku naru made kikoeru made
shizukana jikan ga afurete kuru made | Until I became sad, until I heard it
until the silent time brimmed over | watashi ga dare nan no ka o shiru tame ni | In order to know who I really am | Anyway, anyhow, anywhere I can try
Listen to me
You don't care, they don't care, no one care what I do
Let me tell you | Anyway, anyhow, anywhere I can try
Listen to me
You don't care, they don't care, no one care what I do
Let me tell you | Anyway, anyhow, anywhere I can try
Listen to me
You don't care, they don't care, no one care what I do | Anyway, anyhow, anywhere I can try
Listen to me
You don't care, they don't care, no one care what I do | kono mama | Like now... [2] |
[1] The idea of these first two lines is that the girl's looking at the sun through a window that's been frosted over. The frost on the glass melts and diffracts the light, distorting the colours and outlines somewhat, making the window look like a blurred painting of the Sun. Also, with the true colours I mean the way the colours would look like if they weren't distorted.
[2] Very roughly speaking, "kono mama" means "the way things are now" but it's a very obscure expression. I can't say for sure what kind of a connection it has with the rest of the song so that's the best translation I can do.
